The 2025 David Rockefeller Bridging Leadership Awards: Celebrating the Courage to Bridge
Yesterday, I had the honor of witnessing something deeply moving.
At the Synergos event — The 2025 David Rockefeller Bridging Leadership Awards: Celebrating the Courage to Bridge — two extraordinary women, Yael Admi, Co-founder of Women Wage Peace, and Reem Al-Hajajreh, Co-founder of Women of the Sun, were recognized for their courageous work building bridges between Israelis and Palestinians. These women are not politicians. They are mothers, daughters, and citizens who believe peace begins with dialogue, trust, and shared humanity.
Their message was clear: We don’t have to agree on everything to work for peace. But we do have to show up — together.
As I sat in the audience, I couldn’t help but think of another place torn by violence: #Ukraine and #Russia. And I wondered — what if mothers on both sides stood up together? What if they, too, found the courage to demand a future for their children that isn’t defined by war?
We, as #mothers, do not want our children to be killed — or to become killers.
It’s easy to feel powerless in the face of conflict. But what I saw last night reminded me that change often begins with ordinary people choosing to do the extraordinary — to speak when silence is easier, to listen when anger is loud, and to build when others destroy.
Women have always held communities together. Now, they’re also pushing nations forward.
Let’s amplify their voices. Let’s believe in peace — not as a dream, but as a possibility.
